I recently sold my first home and after having a very nerve wracking buying process a few years prior (due to an inexperienced and timid buying agent) I went out of my way to find the best agent I could to sell.
Matthew was the top rated agent on yelp, and from the moment I called him (he answered on the first ring) to the moment we closed, he lived up to every bit of praise I had read on his yelp reviews.
He was knowledgeable, attentive, easy to get in touch with, quick to respond, and always offering solutions. He did a great job setting my expectations and negotiating on my behalf. He always had my best interests in mind.
If you want an easy, quick, low stress buying or selling experience, go to the best realtor in the northwest. You'll be glad you did.

Mathew is the best real estate agent you could dream of and a very kind person! I honestly would give him 10 stars for the hard work he does every single day including weekends. My fiance and I are first time home buyers and find the whole process so extremely stressful but Mathew has been very helpful and is always there for us, immediately responding to all our questions and concerns, and going out of the way to help us at every step, despite all the setbacks we have encountered. We have now had excellent experiences with Mathew both in purchasing our house in 2015, and then in selling it this year. Mathew is always very responsive and does a good job of making sure that we have all of the advice and competitive landscape information we need to make an informed decision. He also went above and beyond to be our person on the ground as we were out of town during our house closing.
We would not have been able to accomplish everything that we needed to in a short period of time if it were not for Mathew. Our only complaint is that we are now in a different market and won't be able to use Mathew in the future if we have need of a real estate agent again.

Mathew helped us buy our dream home out in the country, and I can't say enough great things about him. We decided on a whim that we wanted to attend an open house and he met us that same day to help us tour the property. As first-time buyers, he made us feel entirely equipped and confident as we went through the searching, offering, and buying processes. He asked great questions to get to know exactly what we wanted, proactively shared new listings with us, and was available day and night for whatever we needed. Even though we were incredibly needy and bugged him often to ask questions or ask to view a property, he's got a tireless work ethic and was a true partner in the process.
When we did find the home we wanted, Mathew sealed the deal even though ours wasn't the first offer accepted and we were heartbroken to miss out on it originally, Mathew had made a good relationship with the seller's realtor and helped us swoop in immediately when the opportunity presented itself.

We used Mathew for a sale and a purchase. We decided on a Monday to list our home and it was on the market on Friday with an open house on Saturday, sold on Wednesday for full price. He is incredibly responsive, reliable, and has a great sense of humor which made him very fun to work with. He was there to answer question any time via text, email or phone call. One day he even drove from Dundee to Gresham to show us one home that we really wanted to see! He's just a great guy and is very knowledgeable about the current crazy market all over the Portland area. I can't say enough about him. I highly recommend Mathew for your next sale or purchase.

Matthew was a great real estate agent. We were first-time homebuyer's and he held her hand through the entire process. Mathew worked with us to find our perfect home. He was available on the weekdays and weekends and any time of day to answer any questions we had. We used Mathew for the sale of our home this past week. From the start, he was a huge help. He helped us decide what needed to be done to present the house for sale in the best light, while minimizing the costs of those fixes. He helped us price the house correctly and react to changing market dynamics. He advertised the house well, and ran quite a number of open houses, both for local agents and buyers. He was timely, efficient, and appropriate in her dealings with offers, and shepherded us and the buyers through the closing process in the same manner. To be honest, this was a very difficult property sale, and Mathew had to deal with a number of issues that were truly beyond the usual domain of the realtor, but these could have derailed the sale and he handled them extremely well. I would highly highly recommend him to other sellers (and to buyers as well).

Our home selling and buying couldn't have gone more smoothly! Mathew sold our house in 3 days and was able to negotiate a good price and additional amenities for our new house. Mathew is a great real estate agent. We were first time homes buyers and he was very patient with us through the whole process. Never felt rushed. He was completely ok to show numerous houses and there was no pressure to put offers on them.
Another good thing about him is that like other agents, he does not make you put higher and higher offers. This was a huge relief as we had another agent before, who kept pushing us, but not Mathew.
We even had to back track a bit after making offers due to inspection finding issues and he was VERY helpful through the difficult process and also got our earnest money back.

I came to Portland from Colorado and was looking to find a house more out in the country. Fortunately I found Matthew who introduced me to Forest Grove and my now new home. Matthew worked diligently to bring all parties together to get our closing done, which wasn't easy, but he was awesome and we got it done. Matthew is a great realtor who really works hard, keeping his party's interests first. He helped me keep my sanity in what turned out to be a very difficult move - even working with my realtor in Colorado, recommending hotels for me to stay in, and giving me advice on where to go for things not related to the purchase of the house. Mathew goes above and beyond and I can't thank him enough for all he did for me.

Matt gave us an incredible experience as first time homebuyers. There was not a time where he was unavailable and he would often communicate with us late into the evening if needed. It didn't matter if it was a phone call, a text, or an email, he always responded as soon as possible. First off I must say I'm a very "resourceful, do it yourself" kind of guy. Honestly when my wife mentioned "let's find a real estate agent" my stomach began to cringe. Mathew Purcell is a stand up guy! We met for coffee to discuss a plan and Mathew answered all my questions about the processes of buying and selling houses. He used "normal" words, and never made us feel like we asked any dumb questions. He is very knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and very professional. The house did have some hiccups due to the age (1920), and took a long time for repairs. Mathew never gave up or let us become discouraged. Mathew was the listing agent of the condo we bought recently in a short sale. From the first day I met Mathew to three months later when we got the deal closed, Mathew has helped us very professionally and efficiently in getting all issues taken cared of.
